After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, 火人 正式回归. 8月28日开始, 2022, 近80,000 p艺术icipants traveled to Black Rock City (near Reno) to build a temporary metropolis that boasted incredible 艺术work, 热情的服装, 还有大量的灰尘.

Every 火人 has its own theme, this year was 醒着的梦. 通过它, the festival sought to explore the “transformative power of dreams, 字面和比喻都有, celebrate the dreamers who channel this potent energy in eye-opening, 经常超现实主义的, 有时改变生活的方式.”

The 艺术 at this year's 火人 was 据报道尺寸更小, which allowed attendees to interact with it on a more personal level. But there were still monumental pieces, including the installation 黑色的! 日月光半导体. 艾琳·道格拉斯创作, it features the photographs of Black burners she had taken over the years attending 火人. The selected images were blown up to a 30-foot scale. “We don’t get people who look up to us, 必发365不能占地方, 必发365不能活在必发365的力量里,” 她说这幅画.

As its name suggests, 火人 always concludes with a ritual burning. This year’s piece set ablaze was the 苍天寺庙 designed by Laurence Renzo Verbeck and Sylvia Adrienne Lisse. Comprising an eight-point design, it looks like a compass when viewed from above. 从古至今, Star代表了, “希望, 丰富, 转换, 方向, 正义, 二元平衡, harmony between the profound and mundane.”

In the years during 火人’s hiatus, the world has drastically changed. 每个人都在某种程度上受到了影响, some previous attendees undoubtedly lost their lives during the pandemic. 虽然 苍天寺庙 couldn’t change that, the burning of it was both a cath艺术ic cleanse and a tribute.

There were plenty of monumental sculptures, too, including the 苍天寺庙 that burned at the end of the festival.
